7 gamblers arrested in Tongibari, sent to jail through court

Tongibari Police Station has arrested seven gamblers from a gambling den in Tongibari, Munshiganj.
They were arrested at around 1am on Saturday night from Sonarang Bastand ground, the heart of the upazila. They were sent to court on Sunday morning.
The arrested are Md. Biplob (35), son of Sobhan Sheikh of Daniapara area of Sirajdikhan upazila, Md. Shakil Sikder (31), son of Md. Abul Sikder, and Md. Shah Alam Sheikh's son Naeem Hossain (30), Habibul Shikder's son Nurul Islam Shikder (42) of Paikpara area of Tongibari upazila, Zahiruddin Bepari's son Nuruzzaman Bepari (36) of Dwipara village, Shahid Hawlader's son Jalal Hawlader (35) of Kaichail village, Md. Kamal Hossain (54) of Abdul Hai Bhuiyan's son Kheora village of Kasba upazila of B Baria district.According to police sources, based on a secret tip-off, on Saturday at around 1 am, SI Shah Ali of Tongibari police station along with a team of policemen raided a gambling den at Sonarong bus stand ground in the upazila. Sensing the presence of the police, the police caught 7 gamblers red-handed along with gambling paraphernalia while they were trying to escape. Later, they were sent to court on Sunday. In this regard, SI Shah Ali of Tongibari Police Station said, based on a secret information, 7 gamblers were arrested along with gambling paraphernalia and 950 taka in cash. They were sent to jail through the court on Sunday.
