3 overloaded trucks fined in mobile court in Goalando

Drivers of three cargo trucks have been fined by a mobile court for transporting excess goods (overloading) on the BIWTC truck weight scale installed on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in front of the GoalandaGoalando Upazila Complex in Rajbari.
On Tuesday at around 10 pm, when the trucks were being weighed at a weigh scale installed adjacent to the upazila, three trucks were seized for transporting excess goods and the drivers of two trucks were fined Tk 2,000 each, Tk 4,000 each, and the driver of one truck was fined Tk 1,000 in a mobile court under Section 85 of the Road Transport Act 2018. Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Nahidur Rahman.
At the time, he said, all drivers who are transporting excess goods on the highway instead of transporting specified goods in trucks are being fined in a mobile court for being overloaded by measuring the goods in the trucks on a weight scale installed in front of Goalando Upazila.
