
Bengali New Year celebrated in Joypurhat

The Bengali New Year 1432 was celebrated with vibrant festivities in Joypurhat on Monday.
A colourful procession was organized by the district administration in celebration of Pahela Baishakh. The procession started from the field of Ramdeo Government Bajla High School, paraded through the main streets of the town, and concluded at the Circuit House grounds. There, a discussion meeting and cultural program were held.
The New Year celebrations were inaugurated by Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhter Chowdhury. Also present were Superintendent of Police Abdul Wahab, officials from the district administration, and representatives from various governmental and non-governmental organizations.
People from different walks of life in the district took part in the event, which showcased the rich traditions and culture of Bengal in a festive atmosphere.
