
14 arrested in RMP's special operation

In a special operation in Rajshahi Metropolitan area, a total of 14 individuals, including 2 for their involvement in the student movement against discrimination, bomb explosions, terrorist activities, and other crimes, were arrested by the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and Detective Branch (DB) police.
During the last 24 hours ending Sunday , special operations were carried out in various parts of the city. In the operation, 2 individuals were arrested on charges related to the student movement against discrimination, causing explosions, engaging in terrorist activities, and other criminal offenses. In addition, 12 other individuals were arrested by RMP, including 5 with warrants and 7 for other offenses.
Among those arrested in the special operation were Mohammad Akhtar Ali (37) and Armi Shaheen alias Mohammad Ismail Hossain (55). Akhtar Ali is the son of Altaf Hossain, a resident of the Railgate area in Belpukur Thana, Rajshahi. He currently resides in the Shiroil Mathpukur area of Boalia Thana. Akhtar was the former Secretary of the Bangladesh Railway Workers League Open Shine branch in Rajshahi. Armi Shaheen, a member of the Awami League, is the son of the late Jamal Mondal from Ghamabona in Damkura Thana.Legal action has been taken against the arrested individuals.
