Janmashtami celebrated in Khansama

A colourful rally and discussion meeting were organized in Khansama Upazila of Dinajpur on Friday to mark the occasion of Janmashtami.
Organized by the Khansama Upazila unit of the Hindu Buddha Christian Kalyan Front, the event commenced around 5:00 PM with a festive procession brought out from the Pakerhat Charankali Haribasar premises.
The procession paraded through key roads in Pakerhat before returning to the temple grounds, where the discussion session took place.
Whip of the National Parliament Akhtaruzzaman Mia, MP, attended the program as the chief guest, while Khansama UNO Kamruzzaman Sarkar and Dinajpur District BNP Financial Affairs Secretary Rabiul Alam Tuhin were present as special guests. The discussion was presided over by Ranjit Kumar Ray, President of the Pakerhat Charankali Temple Committee.
Leaders of the Hindu Buddha Christian Kalyan Front and representatives from local puja committees noted that Janmashtami was observed across the upazila in a festive and solemn religious atmosphere. Local political leaders and community members were present during the event.
