4 members of same family murdered in Rangpur

A former teacher of Rangpur Zilla School, his wife and two sons and daughters have been brutally murdered. The murder of these 4 members of the same family has cast a shadow of mourning and fear everywhere in Rangpur.
The bodies of Ganapati Chakraborty (65), a retired teacher of Rangpur District School, his wife and sons and daughters were recovered from a three-story building in Kamal Kachna Machhuapara area in Rangpur city.
The remaining 3 are his wife Pritilata Chakraborty (50), son Ayush Chakraborty (14) and daughter Agami Chakraborty (28). Their bodies were found by locals and police around 8:30 pm on Saturday.
Rangpur CID Police Inspector Abu Hasan Kabir confirmed the discovery of the four bodies. He said that a foul smell has spread throughout the building. It is believed that someone killed them. The entire family lived on the second floor of the building.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Nazmul Quader said, it is believed that the murder took place two-three days ago.
Rangpur CID Officer-in-Charge Sumit Chowdhury visited the scene and told reporters around 1 am, "From what we have seen so far, it seems like a robbery. It seems like the incident happened 3-4 days ago. The electricity connection of the house was disconnected. Everything where money was kept has been broken. It seems that a rope or a towel was tied around the neck and the person was killed." Police have already arrested two people named Siddharth and Mugadh in connection with the murder.
Meanwhile, the incident is receiving widespread reactions from people from all walks of life, including social media. Rangpur 3 constituency MP Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer Vice- Principal ATM Azam Khan visited the scene. They expressed deep shock over this barbaric incident and demanded immediate arrest of the guilty and capital punishment. Students and teachers of Rangpur Zilla School and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Branch held a protest march demanding justice for the murderers in this incident.
