Police arrested a young man named Saiful Islam (35) in connection with the sensational double murder case in Ramgarh, Khagrachhari.
This information was given at a press briefing in the conference room of the Khagrachari Police Superintendent's office on Thursday.
He was arrested from Chagalnaiya in Feni district last night with the help of information technology.
The arrested Saiful Islam is the son of Md. Shahabuddin, a local of Chagalnaiya area, head of Darogachhara canal in North Kuhuma. In the relationship, Rahena Khatun-Fufu and Amena Khatun are grandmothers.
In the briefing, the Police Superintendent said that the accused Saiful came to his grandmother's house on August 21 and asked for money. When he expressed his inability to pay the money. He was angry and did not eat food at night. That night, he made a plan to kill them. At night, when the grandmother and aunt fell asleep in their respective rooms, he first hit the aunt in the throat with a bamboo cutter kept in the house, and then killed the grandmother in the same way.
After a long week of investigation, the police have revealed the mystery of this brutal murder. They committed such a murder out of greed for property.
