The BNP  celebrated its 48th founding anniversary in Khagrachhari on Tuesday with a colorful procession, tree plantation, cake cutting, and a discussion meeting.

The day-long programs were organized by the district BNP on Tuesday morning.  A large number of leaders and activists from various levels of the party took part in the events, led by district BNP President and Khagrachhari-298 MP Wadud Bhuiyan.

Around 10:30 AM, a vibrant rally set off from the Khagrachhari Government College area. The procession paraded through key thoroughfares of the town, passing via Mahajanpara and Narikel Bagan before reaching the sculpture of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

Party leaders and activists placed floral wreaths at the base of the sculpture to pay their respects. The rally then concluded at the municipal town hall area via Shapla Chattar and Selim Center.

Earlier, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the district BNP office auditorium to mark the founding anniversary, alongside a dedicated tree plantation program.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the municipal town hall auditorium, with Khagrachhari-298 MP and district BNP President Wadud Bhuiyan attending as the chief guest.

Chaired by district BNP Senior Vice President Praveen Chandra Chakma, the meeting featured Khagrachhari Hill District Council Chairman Mrasa Thowai Marma and district BNP General Secretary M. N. Absar as special guests. Senior leaders of the district BNP, along with members of various affiliated and associate organizations, were present at the event.

Speakers at the discussion shed light on the history of the party's establishment, its long political struggle, organizational activities, and BNP's pioneering role in institutionalizing democracy in the country.
