Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs, Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, said that the fugitive dictator has destroyed the country's economy and fled. The dictatorship has weakened the important sectors of the state. They have smuggled a huge amount of money abroad and are now living a luxurious life abroad.

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a joyous rally and discussion meeting organized by the upazila and municipal BNP on the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of the BNP in Birampur, Dinajpur on Tuesday afternoon.

Minister Dr. Zahid said, the expectations and needs of the people of the country must be given utmost importance. BNP leaders and activists must play an active role in standing by the people and solving their problems. He urged them to come forward to help those who are deprived of medical and educational opportunities.

Also present at the meeting were Upazila BNP President Mia Shafiqul Alam Mamun, General Secretary Manjur Elahi Chowdhury Rubel, Municipal BNP President Humayun Kabir, General Secretary Rezaul Karim Reju, and leaders and activists from various levels of BNP and its affiliated organizations.

On the same afternoon, a rally and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the 48th founding anniversary of the nationalist party BNP organized by Dinajpur District BNP. The discussion meeting organized at the Dinajpur Institute Ground was chaired by District BNP President Mofazzal Hossain Dulal and moderated by General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi. The Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs, Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, addressed the gathering as the chief guest. Dinajpur-1 constituency MP Manjurul Islam Manju, Dinajpur District BNP Senior Vice President Mokarram Hossain, Vice President Khalequzzaman Babu, Alhaj Mahbub Ahmed, Akhtaruzzaman Jewel, Hasanuzzaman Ujjal, Publicity Secretary Babu Chowdhury and others were present at the time.
