Enrollment in technical training for youth in Satkhira job opportunities after training

Taking the slogan "Power in Skill" as the theme, the Technical Skills Fair 2026 was held in Satkhira to connect unemployed, uneducated and untrained youth and women with technical skill development training and employment opportunities.
On Tuesday at 9 am, a youth-led workshop was held at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom in Satkhira Sadar under the Youth Forty Project implemented by the NGO Cido and in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh, with the aim of developing the skills of youth and ensuring their livelihoods at the local level.
The fair was held under the chairmanship of Sido Chief Executive Shyamal Kumar Biswas. Deputy Director of the Directorate of Youth Development Sanjit Kumar Das, Principal of Technical Training Center Satkhira Apu Halder, Upazila Cooperative Officer Murshid Alam, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Azizul Haque, Job Placement Officer of Technical Training Center Satkhira Md. Ariful Islam, Trainer of the Directorate of Women's Affairs Mocha: Lutfar Nahar Bithi were present as guests at the fair.
150-200 youth from remote areas of Satkhira participated in the technical skills fair and registered to get admission in the trade of their choice. Detailed information about various technical training courses including basic computers, fish farming, house wiring, radio, TV, refrigerator repair, block painting and handicrafts, welding and catering, modern office management, garment making, electrical electronics, cattle farming, poultry, IT support services, automobiles, AutoCAD, mobile phone servicing, garments, welding, electrical installation and maintenance for construction, graphics and VI design, Japanese and Korean language courses, driving, automatic mechanisms, tailoring and dress making, fashion design, bakery and pastry, beautification, swing machine operation, block-batik, embroidery, show-piece and jewelry, etc. were presented to the participants of the fair.
The organizers said that the aim of the fair was to identify interested youth and create opportunities for them to receive training based on their preferences and needs, and to become self-reliant by receiving training according to their needs from technical training centers.
The program was conducted by Md. Tahiduzzaman Tahid, Project Coordinator of Cido Organization. The overall coordination was done by Program Officer Chandra Shekhar Halder. During the day-long event, the youth were given the opportunity to directly exchange views with representatives of various technical training institutions, receive advice on career issues, and select training according to their interests.
