Dhaka SP visits Savar,Ashulia to see traffic situation, strict warning against extortion

Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (SP) Shamima Parveen conducted an on-spot inspection across the Savar and Ashulia industrial belts to oversee traffic management, ease severe congestion, and evaluate overall law and order conditions.on Tuesday.
During the field inspection, the SP issued a series of directives to duty police officers aimed at streamlining vehicle movement, reducing commuter distress, and restoring discipline along key highway corridors.
As part of the drive, Shamima Parveen interacted directly with local transport operators, commercial drivers, and shop owners to investigate potential extortion rackets or unauthorized collection schemes operating in the area. She urged citizens, traders, and transport workers to report any extortion demands, threats, or harassment immediately to her office or the OCs of the respective police station.
Reaffirming the law enforcement agency's zero-tolerance policy, the Superintendent of Police asserted that Dhaka District Police maintains a uncompromising stance against extortion, illegal tolls, and unprincipled activities. She assured local residents and business owners that police personnel remain deployed across major transit points to ensure public safety, economic stability, and uninterrupted traffic flow.
