Child dies after drowning in pond in Madhabpur

A child tragically died after drowning in Shyamolipara of Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased child, Mustakim (12), is the son of Iqbal Hossain of Barag village of the upazila. According to local sources, Mustakim was playing near the pond near his house in the afternoon.
At one point, he fell into the pond without the knowledge of his family. After a while, his relatives started searching for him when they could not find him.
Later, he was rescued from the pond and taken to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Madhabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahid Ullah said that the police visited the spot after receiving the information. The body was handed over to the relatives as the family had no complaint.
