Body of young man recovered from paddy field in Sundarganj

Police recovered the body of a van driver named Anisur Mia (30) with a rope wrapped around his neck in Satgiri village of Bamondanga Union in Sundarganj Upazila of Gaibandha.
On Thursday afternoon, locals found the body in a paddy field and informed the police station. The police reached the spot and recovered the body. The deceased is the son of Md. Matiar Mia of Falgachha village, Taluk Anisur Mia upazila.
Family members said that Anisur had been missing since the evening of October 14. Despite extensive searches, the family members were unable to find any trace of him and later filed a general diary with the police station. Finally, his body was found lying in a paddy field a short distance from his home on Thursday.
Upon receiving the news, several teams of the District Detective Branch (DB) police, including the Sundarganj police, reached the spot and started investigation. Later, the body was sent to the morgue of Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the area. However, the cause of death has not yet been confirmed. The police have initially classified the incident as a mysterious death.

"The incident is being investigated, and the cause of death will be known for sure once the autopsy report is received," said Abdul Hakim Azad OC of Sundarganj Police Station.
