Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Ali has expressed the hope of developing Rangpur Begum Rokeya University (RBRU), one of the universities of North Region, as a center of excellence in higher education and research. For this he sought the cooperation of all the stakeholders including the students and teachers of the university and the civil society.

He said this in a separate exchange meeting with the students of Mathematics and Computer Science and Engineering department of the university last Thursday.

The Vice-Chancellor said that priority will be given to activities that will benefit students and build a positive image of the university. If there is any criticism related to the university, he asked them to inform the vice-chancellor directly and not on social media, and hoped for the advice and cooperation of the students in this regard.

No student should be killed like Abu Saeed. Security will be ensured in the campus so that the students do not feel insecure. He said that everyone should be careful that no corrupt person can disturb the work. The Vice-Chancellor also expressed hope that the education environment will be good if the good relationship between students and teachers remains intact.

In the discussion meeting, the students highlighted various problems of the university including teacher crisis. The Vice-Chancellor also said that he will identify the problems of the students and take initiatives to solve them. The teachers and students of the respective departments were present in the separate discussion meeting of Mathematics and Computer Science and Engineering Department.
