Rangpur Carmichael College celebrates its foundation anniv

On the occasion of the 180th anniversary of Rangpur Carmichael College, various programs were held throughout the day on Sunday.

As part of the program in the morning, a joyous procession led by the principal of the college Prof. Mostafizar Rahman took out and circled the main road of the city.

On November 10, 1960, the then Governor of Bengal Lord Thomas David Barron laid the foundation stone of Carmichael College, a traditional ancient educational institution. In this long journey, it has signed many leaderships at the top level of the country. A discussion meeting was later held in the college premises on the occasion of this foundation anniversary. Director General, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor ABM Rezaul Karim presided over it. Mohammad Rabiul Islam, Additional Secretary, Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education was present as the chief guest in the event.

Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Joint Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Professor Mostafizar Rahman, Principal of the College, General Secretary of Alumni Association Rokibus Sultan Manik and others were present as special guests. In the afternoon, commemorations, guest talks and cultural programs are organized at the same venue

Rangpur Range DIG Mohammad Aminul Islam was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the second phase and Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Majeed Ali and Deputy Commissioner Rabiul Faisal were special guests. It was presided over by the principal of the college, Professor Mostafizar Rahman.
