Prof Dr. Moh Nurul Islam joins at Department of ME of BAUET as Professor and Head

Professor Dr. Mohammad Nurul Islam has recently joined Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), Qadirabad Cantonment, Bagatipara in Natore as a Professor and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering ( ME).
This responsibility was given from last 23 June 2024 through an office order signed by the Registrar of the University Lt. Col. Sheikh Sunny Mohammad Talha (Retd).
Prior to joining BAUET, he worked as Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) from 1982 to 2014. He also served as Senior Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Program at University Teknologi Brunei (UTB) from 2011 to 2024.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Nurul Islam was born in 1960 in Parbatipur Upazila of Dinajpur district in a noble Muslim family. In his educational life, he passed from Rajshahi Board in 1975 SSC first division (6th rank) and in 1977 HSC first division (5th rank). He obtained B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1982. Later he obtained M. Engineering Science from University of Melbourne, Australia and PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia.
In his distinguished career, he served as Dean of Mechanical Faculty of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Syndicate Member of RUET, Member of Finance Committee, Convener of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT) and member of the Committee for Advanced Studies and Research (CASR).
His book 'Solar Drying System for Jute Fiber' published in German has been well received. 27 research papers written by him have been published in domestic and foreign journals. He has published research papers in 62 international conferences and symposiums. He has visited Brunei, Malaysia, Australia to attend international conferences, seminars, workshops and symposiums. He also visited Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, China, Thailand and Singapore.
He is Fellow of Professional Society; Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB); Bangladesh Society of Mechanical Engineers (BSME); abd Member of Institution of MECHANICAL ENGINEERS (IMechE), UK. In personal life he is the father of three sons and one daughter.
