Martyr Abdul Kaium Memorial Football Tournament 2024 has started in Comilla University ( CoU ) with a match between Department of Archeology and Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Wednesday (November 13) around 11 o'clock in the morning, the opening ceremony held with the national anthem by the conductionof Assistant Professor of Department of Archeology Rezwana Afrin Rumpa.

At the beginning of the program, a minute silence was held in memory of July revolution's martyr. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Haidar Ali was present as the chief guest in the opening ceremony. Pro vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Masuda Kamal, Treasurer Dr. Md. Solaiman was present there as special guest. Dr. Sohrab Uddin was present there as president of the ceremony. Many teachers and students also present there. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Haider Ali said, 'I'm announcing the inauguration of Martyr Abdul Kaium Memorial Football Tournament . I'm hoping that no unpleasant incident will occur in the game. Hope the tournament will end successfully.' Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Masuda Kamal said, 'I thank the organizers for organizing this Inter-Department Football Tournament named after Martyr Abdul Kaium.

An initiative has been taken to commemorate the July revolution through this. Hopefully students will play games with patience and discipline. Emotions must be controlled. Care should be taken to ensure that no unpleasant incident takes place in the game for winning or losing.' President of the program and convener of the sports committee Professor Dr. Mohammad Sohrab Uddin said, 'I want to thank the physical education department for organizing this tournament beautifully.

All departments have completed their preparations nicely. Last time we arranged the tournament in knock out system, but this time we have arranged in group stage system so that no one will have any regrets. We will watch an enjoyable tournament at the end. '
