Week-long annual art exhibition begins at DU

The week-long 'Annual Artwork Exhibition' (11 November 2024) began on Monday at Zainul Gallery, Faculty of Arts, Dhaka University.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan inaugurated this exhibition as the chief guest in a function. Prizes were awarded to 5 students for the best art work in the event.
Dhaka University Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and the Dean of Fine Arts Faculty. Azaharul Islam Sheikh was present as a special guest on the occasion. Professor Lala Rukh Salim of Sculpture Department, Professor AAM Kawsar Hasan and Departmental Chairman Associate Professor Nasimul Khabir spoke.
Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students who participated in the annual art exhibition. He said that art has its own language, which carries the message of social change. So it is our duty to keep the industry alive. Mentioning that the July Memorial Corner will be set up in Dhaka University, he said that there will be art works related to the July-August student uprising. The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that the suggestions of teachers and students of the Faculty of Fine Arts will be taken to enrich this corner.
This exhibition will continue till Sunday, November 17, 2024. The exhibition will be open to all from 11 am to 7 pm daily.
