Govt grants distributed on Prabarana Purnima at Hathajari

Upazila Nirbahi Officer ABM Moshiuzzaman has distributed government grants on the occasion of Prabarana Purnima, a sacred religious festival of the Buddhist community in Hathazari in Chattogram on Wednesday.
The meeting organized at the 6th Sangharaj Dharmananda auditorium of Mirzapur Gautamashram Vihar of the upazila was presided over by Vihar Principal Dharmasarathi Bhadanta Sharanananda Mahathir. Upazila Executive Officer ABM Moshiuzzaman was the chief guest. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mehraj Sharbin, OC (Investigation) Nurul Alam, Mirzapur UP Panel Chairman Md Zakir Hossain were special guests.
Journalist Keshav Kumar Barua gave a welcome speech at the meeting held under the chairmanship of Lion Anupam Barua, General Secretary of Hathazari Buddhist Welfare Council.
Later, the guests handed over the allocated money for the Prabarna festival and the donation of solid chibar in the hands of the representatives of various Buddhist Viharas under the upazila. At the end, the chief guest and guests inaugurated the festival by flying lanterns.
