Financial assistance to DU students injured in Anti-discrimination Student Movement

About Tk 5 lakh financial assistance was provided to 12 Dhaka University students injured in the anti-discrimination student movement.
Dhaka University Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury handed over the financial assistance checks to the students at a ceremony organized at the Treasurer's Office on Monday.
Among others, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Md. Mostaq Ahmed, Convener of the Provost Standing Committee Dr. Abdullah-al-Mamun, Coordinator Abdul Quader, Alhaj Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan, father of Shahid Farhan Fayyaz, and Md. Abu Hossain, brother of Shahid Abu Sayeed, were present.
Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury paid deep tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the July student uprising and said that a committee was formed to oversee the proper treatment of Dhaka University students injured in the student uprising.
This committee sent letters to every department and institute requesting a list of the names of students injured in the uprising. In this context, students who contacted the committee were provided with financial assistance for their treatment.
