Chandnaish Upazila Parishad newly- elected chairman takes charge, 8 UP chairman, two municipal mayors boycott

The newly -elected Upazila Chairman of Chandanish Upazila Parishad of Chittagong Md Jasim Uddin Ahmed assumed his duties at 11 o'clock on Monday.
It is learnt that during the first joint meeting and activities, Chandnaish Municipal Mayor Mahabubul Alam Khoka, Dohazari Municipal Mayor Lokman Hakim along with 8 union chairmen of Dhopachari, Hashimpur, Satbaria, Bailtali, Barkal, Barma, Jora and Kanchanabad union boycotted. 8 UP chairmen including 2 mayors of the upazila could not be answered after repeatedly calling their phones. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmuda Begum confirmed the absence of the above in the first meeting.
However, due to the lack of quorum, the newly elected President of the Mohammad Jasim Uddin Ahmed announced the postponement of the first session.
When the elected Upazila Chairman Md Jasim Uddin Ahmed reached the Upazila Parishad, Upazila Executive Officer Mahmuda Begum, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Diplomacy Chakma, various officials of the Upazila welcomed him with flowers.
