14 BNP leaders, activists sent to jail in Habiganj

The court has sent 14 leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates to prison in Habiganj.

The court has not granted bail to 14 BNP leaders and sent them to jail in connection with the clashes between BNP leaders and activists with the police on August 19 and the clashes between BNP leaders and activists with Awami League leaders and activists on August 20.

On Sunday (October 8), more than 150 BNP leaders appeared in Habiganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Harunur Rashid's court and applied for bail.

After the court hearing, Habiganj District BNP Member Mohibul Islam Shaheen, District Jubo Dal Member Secretary Municipal Councilor Sofikur Rahman Situ, District Volunteers Dal Member Secretary Emdadul Haque Imran, District Chatra Dal President Shah Rajiv Ahmed Ringon, District Jubo Dal Former Acting President Zahirul Islam Salim, Former Co-Organizer Secretary Municipal Councilor Tipu Ahmed, District Chhatra Dal Senior Vice President Hafizul Islam Hafiz, Organizing Secretary Golam Mahbub, Habiganj Municipal Youth Dal Convener Murshed Alam Sajan, BNP Leader Mahbubul Haque Helal, Kumed Ali, Madhabpur Upazila BNP Leader Chowdhury Fazle Imam Sumon, Monir Uddin Pathan, Jasim Sikder denied bail to Mohib Ullah and sent him to jail. Granted bail to other accused.

Meanwhile, BNP leader Alhajjab GK Gauch will be produced in the Habiganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday (October 9) for the bail hearing in the two cases filed in connection with the clash of BNP leaders and activists with the police on August 19. Advocate Afzal Hossain confirmed the matter.
