Two killed,18 seriously injured in Srimangal road accident

Twi people were killed when a pick-up carrying tea workers lost control and overturned in Moulvibazar's Srimangal.

The incident took place on Monday in Satgaon Union's Dhaka-Sylhet Regional Highway near Satgaon Tea Plantation Factory in an area called Dhallai (Banga). The deceased were Vishal (19), son of Sadhan of Amrail tea plantation and

Hridiya Ravi Das (32), son of Ram Ravi Das of the same garden. 18 more people were injured in this incident. 6 of them are in critical condition.

According to eyewitnesses and police sources, around 10 am on Monday morning, 20 passengers were injured when a pick-up lost control and overturned on the way to work from the Amrail tea garden in the upazila in an area called Bhanga on the Dhaka-Sylhet regional highway. Locals rescued the injured and immediately took them to Srimangal Upazila Health Complex.

Saifur Rahman, OC of Satgaon Highway Police Station confirmed the matrer and said that the seriously injured were sent to the hospital and the pick-up vehicle was seized and brought to the Highway Police Station.
