
Two businesses fined for consumer rights violation in Srinagar

A total fine of Tk 15,000 was imposed in two cases during a consumer rights protection drive conducted by the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate in Srinagar.
The fine was imposed against a pharmacy owner and a grocery store owner for violating regulations.
The operation was carried out on Monday afternoon at Srinagar Bazaar by Asif Al Azad, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, Munshiganj. Present during the drive were Upazila Sanitary Inspector Nasrin Sultana Mili, Srinagar Bazaar Committee Convener and Freedom Fighter Tofazzal Hossain, Committee Member Abu Bakker Siddique, and members of Srinagar Police.
According to sources, as part of regular market monitoring, Rokeya Medical Hall (pharmacy) was fined Tk 5,000, while Madhab Store (grocery shop) was fined Tk 10,000.
