A meeting was held on the occasion of the month of Ramadan on the initiative of the Kapasia Upazila Administration of Gazipur to review the overall preparations, price control and market monitoring. The meeting was held on Monday morning, March 3, at the Upazila Parishad meeting room.

The price control and market monitoring meeting was held with Kapasia UNO Tamanna Tasneem in the chair and was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Nurul Amin, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sumon Kumar Basak, Upazila LGED Engineer , Md. Belal Hossain Sarkar, Deputy Police Inspector Md. Aminul Haque, Kapasia Press Club President F. M. Kamal Hossain, District Agriculture Marketing Officer Md. Golam Mortuza, Safe Food Officer Farzana Yasmin Sonia, Convener of Kapasia Market Traders Association Afzal Hossain, Member Secretary Journalist Md. Saiful Islam Shahin, Upazila Education Officer Ramita Islam, BRDB Chairman Md. Selim Hossain Arju, Upazila Food Controller Sheikh Mohammad Mohibur Rahman, BRDB Officer Dilara Akhter Moni, Upazila Family Planning Officer Rahima Khatun, Youth Development Officer Md. Ejaz Mia, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Fatema Tuz, among others. Zohra, Sanitary Inspector Kazi Jahangir Alam, Business Representative Chittaranjan Saha, Mir Masud Karim.

Later, at the end of the meeting, UNO Tamanna Tasneem led the officials, business representatives and journalists present at the meeting and visited the markets.

Upon receiving this news, monopolistic businessmen including grocery and rice trader Nirmal Chandra Banik of the market closed their shops and fled. During the market monitoring, price control, correct measurement and quality were checked. The administration warned the businessmen to maintain the sanctity of Ramadan.
