
Seminar on Japan’s JFIPP Fellowship held at NSTU

A seminar on the Japan Foundation Indo-Pacific Partnership Program (JFIPP) Fellowship was held at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU). The event was organized by NSTU Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the International Cooperation and Collaboration Center.
The seminar was hekd on Saturday at the IQAC venue.The event's chief guest was Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ismail, while the chief patron was Koji Sato, Director General (South Asia), Japan Foundation.
In his speech, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ismail emphasized that,the JFIPP Fellowship is a prestigious opportunity for higher education and research.He encouraged faculty members and students of NSTU’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities to take full advantage of this opportunity provided by Japan, as the fellowship covers all expenses, eliminating financial barriers. He also highlighted that this initiative would strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh, facilitating academic progress at NSTU. Moreover, he stated that the fellowship would significantly contribute to education, research, technical collaboration, and skilled human resource development.
Chief Patron Koji Sato said, the JFIPP Fellowship has been playing a crucial role in enhancing the quality of higher education and research in South Asia. Japan fully funds this fellowship in various fields of social sciences and sciences, promoting joint research, cross-cultural exchanges, and academic excellence between Japan and the recipient countries.
The seminar was presided over by IQAC Director Prof Dr. Asadun Nabi, with special guests including Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Haque and Treasurer Prof Dr. Muhammad Hanif. The keynote speaker was Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Executive Director of the Pan Asia Research Institute, Tokyo, and Faculty Member at the University of Dhaka. The program moderator was Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Kaiyum Masud, Additional Director of IQAC. Prof Dr. Md. Rokonuzzaman Siddiqui, Additional Director of the International Cooperation and Collaboration Center of NSTU was also present.
Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun said , apart from the University of Dhaka, two other universities had been selected for this seminar, with NSTU being one of them. He expressed confidence that the faculty and students of NSTU would make full use of this fully funded fellowship and apply their acquired knowledge to enhance the university's higher education and research standards.
