The results of the 17th Bangladesh Judicial Service (BJS) examination have been published, with Halimatus Sadia, a student from the Law Department of Barishal University, securing the first position.

She also achieved the top position in both her undergraduate and master’s degree results. The information was confirmed through an official notification signed by Sharif MM Reza Zaker, Controller of Examinations of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission, on Sunday.

For the first time, a student from Barishal University has secured the top position in the BJS examination. The department's chairman, Assistant Professor Sardar Kaiser Ahmed, confirmed the news, stating that Halimatus Sadia is a student of the 5th batch from the 2017-18 academic session of the university’s Law Department.

Expressing his pride, he said, "It is an incredibly joyous moment for us that a student from our university has topped the judicial service exam. Despite the challenges faced by our department, she has outperformed students from renowned universities, and all credit goes to her hard work." He further mentioned that every year, students from their department qualify for the judicial service exam.

Halimatus Sadia hails from Lohalia village in Babuganj Upazila, Barishal district. She is the daughter of Rahman Kabir and Nasima Akter. She completed her SSC in 2015 from Barishal Government Girls' High School and her HSC in 2017 from Barishal Government Women's College. She achieved a GPA of 5.00 in both SSC and HSC before enrolling in the Law Department at Barishal University.

Seeking blessings from everyone, Halimatus Sadia shared, "By the grace of Allah, I have secured the first position in the 17th Judicial Service Examination. My family's support has been the most significant factor behind my success. The motivation from my parents and the guidance of my teachers have brought me this far. Additionally, the prayers and love of my classmates and relatives have contributed to this achievement."
