With the slogan "Empowering youth is essential to build the family of choice in a just and promising world", on Monday at 10 am, on the occasion of celebrating World Population Day 2025, a rally, discussion meeting and prize distribution ceremony was organized by the District Family Planning Department Barishal at the Circuit House conference room.
The chief guest at the event was Md. Ahsan Habib, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue), Barishal. Special guests were Md. Manjur Morshed Alam, DIG Barishal Range Barishal, Dr. Shyamal Krishna Mondal, Director (Health) Barishal Division, Md. Delwar Hossain, Deputy Commissioner Barishal, Dr. S.M. Manjur-E-Elahi, Civil Surgeon Barishal, Md. Iqbal Hasan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Barishal Sadar Barishal. The program was presided over by Md. Abul Kalam, Director, Family Planning Department, Barishal, along with officials from various government and private institutions.
At the beginning, guests inaugurated the event by releasing balloons and festoons. Later, a colorful rally started from the Circuit House premises, paraded through important roads of the city, and ended at the Circuit House conference room. The guests highlighted various important aspects of World Population Day in their discussions.
Afterwards, on the occasion of World Population Day 2025, in the category of best worker/institution in 10 categories of Barishal district, Barishal Sadar Upazila received the crest as the best Upazila Parishad.
