Those who oppose P.R. system do not want fair elections : Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad

Dr. A.H.M. Hamidur Rahman Azad, Central Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament, said that those who do not want free, fair, and impartial elections in Bangladesh are the ones opposing the P.R. system. There is no alternative to the P.R. system for free, fair, peaceful, and acceptable elections.
 
He further stated that if elections are held under a proportional system, the true value of the people's votes will be assessed, nomination trade will be stopped. The influence of black money, occupation of polling centres will be halted, and free, fair, and impartial elections will be possible.
 
He said these in  a grassroots responsible meeting  held under the chairmanship of Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal, President of Kalarmarchhara Union, Moheshkhali, with General Secretary Abdu Sattar as the moderator on Saturday. 
 
Special guests included - Professor Abu Taher Chowdhury, Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Cox's Bazar District, Shamsul Alam Bahadur, Assistant Secretary and President of the Workers' Welfare Federation, Cox's Bazar District, Md. Zaker Hossain, District Working Council member, and Kamrul Hasan, Organisational Secretary of the City Jamaat.
 
Speeches were given by Amir Master Nazrul Islam of Moheshkhali North, General Secretary Master Bashir Ahmed, President of the Workers' Welfare Federation of Moheshkhali North Hafiz Ansarul Karim, Hasan Sharif Rubel, and other grassroots leaders.
