Propoganda against UP chairman in Tongibari

It has been alleged that a group is continuously spreading propaganda to frame Abu Siddique Bepari, Acting chairman of Panchgaon Union Parishad in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj. The incident has created extreme tension and excitement in the area.
According to local sources, Abu Siddique Bepari was given the responsibility of acting chairman after the elected chairman Sumon Howlader was killed. Since taking office, an influential group has been targeting him and trying to tarnish his reputation through one propaganda after another and threats.
Chairman Abu Siddique Bepari said, “I was given the responsibility after the murder of Suman Howlader. Since then, a group has become vengeful. A few months ago, a note in the office read, ‘You too will be shot dead like Suman.’ I filed a general diary (GD) with Tongibari police station and informed the administration about the incident.”
He added, “A few days later, the electricity meter of the union parishad was set on fire. Most recently, a false propaganda is being spread against me using a widow to make immoral proposals. This is an attempt to tarnish my personal and social reputation.”
Many local residents have expressed concern over the matter. They say that the way a responsible chairman is being repeatedly targeted is in no way acceptable.
Chairman Abu Siddique Bepari strongly protested against the propaganda, saying, “I am working for the people, so I am not afraid of any conspiracy and propaganda. I demand a fair investigation and action against the guilty from the administration.”
