Newborn baby found in cartoon box floating on Teesta River

A newborn baby girl’s body was found in a cartoon box floating in the Teesta River at Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat on Thursday.
Locals saw the box and brought it out. Inside, they found the baby’s body wrapped in polythene. Police later took the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Officers said they are investigating the cause of death and trying to identify the baby.
