Former minister Abdur Razzak remanded for 5 days

The former minister Abdur Razzak was remanded in the case of the murder of college student Emon in the anti-discrimination student movement.
He has been remanded for five days. He was brought from Tangail jail to Mirzapur police station on Friday morning.
The former food minister has been remanded to Mirzapur police station as the prime accused in the Emon murder case, police said.
It has been reported that during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 4, a group of miscreants attacked and set fire to the Gorai Highway Police Station during a peaceful program in front of the Gorai Highway Police Station of Mirzapur Upazila on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. At that time, a college student Eman, a resident of Himnagar village in Gopalpur area, was shot dead there. Later, Emon died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital on August 18 while under treatment.
In this incident, Emon's brother Suman filed a murder case in Mirzapur police station on August 19. Former minister Abdur Razzak was made the main accused in that case.
Metropolitan Detective Police arrested Abdur Razzak in Dhaka on October 14. On November 11, the police produced him in Mirzapur Amli Court in Tangail and applied for a seven-day remand. Court judge Ismat Ara granted his five-day remand.
According to police sources, Abdur Razzak was brought to Mirzapur Police Station on Friday morning from Tangail Jail on a five-day remand.
Mirzapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mosharof Hossain confirmed the validity of these theories.
