Barishal Bureau

A teachers' assembly was held in Barishal under the initiative of the Adarsh Teachers' Council on Saturday.

The meeting organized at Ashwini Kumar Town Hall in Barishal city was attended as the chief guest by Advocate Muazyam Hossain Helal, Central Advisor of Ideal Teachers Parishad and General Secretary of Ideal Teachers Federation, former senate member of Dhaka University, Prof. ABM Fazlul Karim was the main speaker.

Principal Zahir Uddin, Chief Advisor of Barishal Metropolitan Council, was present as a special guest. Babar and Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Ideal Teacher Federation Professor Md. Rabiul Islam.

Under the chairmanship of the President of Adarsh Teachers Parishad Barisal, Prof. Mahmud Hossain Dulal, and moderated by Prof. Jahangir Kabir, prominent educators Principal Aminul Islam Khosru, Maulana Matiur Rahman, Prof. Maulana Habibur Rahman, Barisal City President of Bangladesh Adarsh Kindergarten Teachers Parishad also spoke at the event. Shahjala, Barishal City President of Bangladesh Ebtedayi Teachers Parishad Maulana Shahidul Islam, Barisal City President of Bangladesh Adarsh Primary Teachers Parishad AKM Kamal Uddin, Barisal City President of Bangladesh Adarsh School Teachers Parishad Md. Mizanur Rahman, Barisal Metropolitan President of Bangladesh Adarsh Madrasa Teachers Parishad Maulana Sohrab Hossain, Barishal Metropolitan President of Bangladesh Adarsh Technical Teachers Parishad Abu Jafar Md. Saleh, Barisjal Metropolitan President of Bangladesh Adarsh College Teachers Parishad Sultanul Arefin were present.

The speakers criticized various discriminations of the teachers during the previous dictatorial government and urged all the teachers to be aware so that no such dictatorial system can be developed in the future. In the past 16 years, the illegitimate government has destroyed the education system in many ways. All kinds of attempts have been made in the text books to divert the students away from moral education and Islamic education through various techniques. But a strong education system can lead the whole nation towards progress.

They also said that the students of our country should be educated in contemporary and moral education. If the educated manpower is exported, the youth of our country will get good employment and earn more foreign exchange.
