Md. Masum, Tongibari (Munshiganj)

Corruption allegations have been made against the headmaster and assistant teachers of Tongibari Madra Government Primary School in Munshiganj.

Md. Zahid Sheikh, on behalf of the villagers of Mandra, filed a complaint with UNO alleging multiple irregularities and demanding proper action through a proper investigation on February 12 in this regard.

The complaint states that despite government grants for the school grounds, no work has been done on the school grounds. Female teachers bring their children to school, as a result, students do not get proper education time. When guardians go to check on their children, they are mistreated and chased away. Additional fees are charged for admission to the school in addition to the prescribed government fee. In the Charukaru exam, all students are not treated equally, and those guardians who give expensive gifts to teachers are given higher marks. While collecting the PSP exam certificate, students and guardians were charged Tk 500 to Tk 1,000. It was also alleged that students were given leave before the scheduled time.

Zakia Sultana, head teacher of Mandra Government Primary School, said, a written complaint has been filed against me. The investigation committee has come to investigate the matter, and it has been resolved.

Academic Supervisor Md. Hannan, investigating officer of the complaint, said, I went to the school. The investigation report has not been prepared yet. The investigation report will be submitted within this week.

UNO Md. Mostafizur Rahman said in this regard, the academic supervisor has been given the responsibility to investigate this matter. We have not received the investigation report yet. Appropriate action will be taken after the investigation.
