Fatikchhari teenager beaten to death on suspicion of murder, two injured

A teenager named Md. Rihan Uddin Prakash Mahin (15) was allegedly beaten to death in Fatikchhari, Chittagong. Two other teenagers named Manik and Rahat, who were the same age, were injured in the incident. The two injured are undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The incident took place on Friday (August 22) morning near Chenger Bridge in Ward No. 5 area of Kanchannagar Union of the upazila. The deceased Mahin is the son of Muhammad Lokman of Sakr Ali Talukder house in the area. After the incident, the police have arrested two suspects named Noman and Azad.
The attackers also beat and injured Mahin's father and mother when they tried to save him. Police have arrested two youths, Noman and Azad, in connection with the incident.
The families of the injured alleged that Manik and Rahat had only gone to visit a relative's house. They were brutally attacked on suspicion. They demanded a proper investigation and exemplary punishment for the culprits.
Fatikchhari Police Station OC Nur Ahmed said, "A group of teenagers chased a group of teenagers in the early hours of the morning and they fled and took shelter in a building. They were later caught and beaten up. A young man named Mahin died. The two youths have been taken into police custody for questioning."
