Raipur Children’s Park needs urgent renovation

Raipur Children’s Park needs urgent renovation

Zihad Hossain Rahat, Raipur ( Lakshmipur)

Raipur Upazila Administration Children's Park is in poor condition. Children's toys are being destroyed due to lack of supervision. Goods are stolen. There is no end to the upazila residents' worries about this park, which turns into a drug arena in the evening.

The activities of the park started on September 28 last year for the entertainment of children at a cost of about 50 lakh taka on two acres of government land, but now it has come to a complete standstill.

It can be seen that the main gate of the park is locked. Cows, dogs, goats, etc. are entering desperately through the side pocket gate. Nearby residents are rushing to dry clothes in the sun of the park.

Although the children cannot fulfill their entertainment needs, the grass-eating animals including cows and goats are fulfilling their food needs by chewing the large grass in the field. According to local residents, the park has been closed for more than four months. As the evening wore on, drug sessions took place inside and outside the park's bushes and structures.

Standing at the main gate of this ruined park, six-year-old Saima says regretfully, Safwan and I have come. The children's park is ruined, everything is broken. We look from the outside. A parent named Riyaz said that it is necessary to overcome the bad situation. We are drawing the attention of the concerned authorities.

Charpata Union Parishad Chairman Sultan Mamunur Rashid said, the children's park was under our supervision. The program is now closed. It will be possible to ensure entertainment facilities for children if started soon.

Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Emran Khan said that surveillance has decreased after the revolution. We are trying to get the babies to come soon.
