Photo exhibition i on river, wildlife, pollution held in Ctg

Chittagong Bureau

A photo exhibition on the story of pollution of the river and its wildlife was held on Friday (October 25) at Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Gallery of Chattagram District Arts Academy.

From 10 am to 8 pm people of all ages flock to this exhibition throughout the day. The Delta Research Initiative (DRI) organized this exhibition on the life of the river and its people. Khulna University Photographic Society and Netherlands Embassy were in cooperation.

In the exhibition, the camera of 96 photographers of the country captured the arbitrary use of human beings with life and nature, which continues to destroy Bangladesh, one of the victims of which is the river.

Rivers threatened by encroachment, pollution. River life choked with factory waste on the banks of the river. Black smoke covered the sky of the river. Once again, the beautiful stretch of two-armed river uniquely decorates this delta. Again, in the morning of winter, the water of the soft river, breaking through the layer of fog, has been caught on camera.

Researcher of Delta Research Initiative. Sakibul Haque Saki said, 'This event is to create awareness about the life and biodiversity of the river as well as highlight the local culture. There are also efforts to bring marginal rivers to the people.

Usually, only the big rivers like Padma, Meghna are seen in river picture exhibition. However, in this exhibition, seemingly unfamiliar rivers like Haripur River, Jadukata River are also shown inside the lens.

Earlier two phases of this exhibition were held in Khulna and Rajshahi.
