Police have recovered the body of a young man, three days after he went missing in Satkhira’s Kolaroa upazila. The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain, 27, son of Chhadar Ali of Keralakata union.

The body was found floating in a fish enclosure near Kajir Hat fuel station on Wednesday  morning.

Locals said Imran had gone missing around 9 pm on Sunday, prompting his family to file a general diary (GD) with the police. The body was initially unrecognizable, but later identified through his ID card and wallet found nearby.

Kolaroa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Saiful Islam said the youth is believed to have died two to three days earlier. “The body was swollen and partially decomposed,” he added.

Police sent the body to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy and confirmed that an investigation is underway.
