Fry were released in the Upazila Parishad pond in Shyamnagar Upazila, Satkhira, under the implementation of the Upazila Fisheries Department on Wednesday morning.
The fry were released by the chief guest of the event, Shyamnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ms. Rani Khatun. Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Tauhid Hasan delivered the welcome speech at the event. Among others present were Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Ziaur Rahman, Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Sharid Bin Shafik, Upazila OCC Program Officer Pronab Kumar Biswas, Senior Scientific Officer of the Department of Fisheries Dr. Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Shyamnagar Police Station Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, and various officials from the Upazila Fisheries Department. It is reported that under the revenue budget of the Department of Fisheries, in the fiscal year 2025-26, 450 kg of Rui fish fry were released into 44 institutions across the Upazila. These institutions include government and private organizations, educational institutions, and religious establishments.
