'World Pharmacists Day' was celebrated at Dhaka University on Thursday through various programs. The day's programs included rallies, discussion meetings, health counseling for students.
The Department of Pharmacy and Faculty of Pharmacy of Dhaka University organized this day-long program.
A discussion meeting was held at the Pharmacy Lecture Theatre on this occasion. Chaired by the Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, Prof Dr. Zakir Ahmed Chowdhury, the program was attended by the Chairman of Radiant Pharmaceuticals Limited, Md. Naser Shahriar Zahedi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dhaka University, Prof Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Secretary of the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council, Muhammad Mahbubul Haque, Executive Director of the Marketing and Commercials Department of Nuvista Pharma Limited, Muhammad Ashfaq Uddin, and Chief Marketing Officer of Renata Pharmaceuticals, Md. Tanbir Sajib. The welcome address was delivered by the Convener of the World Pharmacists Day Program and Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dhaka University, Dr. Abu Asad Chowdhury.
On the occasion of the day, health services were provided to the female students of Dhaka University in collaboration with Nuvista Pharmaceuticals. The female students attended the Women's Health Camp (Khule Bolo Campaign) at the Mukarram Hossain Khandaker Science Building premises from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and received various health-related advice.
The camp provided advice on polycystic ovarian syndrome, irregular cycles, acne and hirsutism, endometriosis, iron and vitamin D deficiency, thyroid problems, breast and uterine cancer and other health issues.

Under the supervision of Dr. Kumkum Parveen, Assistant General Manager of the Medical Branch of Nuvista Pharmaceuticals, gynecologists Dr. Umme Safura Khatun and Dr. Ranjita Rani Saha advised the students on various physical and mental problems. As a special entertainment measure to keep the students' minds cheerful, bangles and earrings were provided to them. The camp was open to all students of Dhaka University.
