JU announces 9-day holiday for Durga Puja, other festivals

Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to go on a nine-day holiday in observance of Durga Puja, Fateha-i-Yajdaham and Laxmi Puja.
The matter was confirmed through a notice signed by Acting Registrar Dr ABM Azizur Rahman on Wednesday.
As per the notice, classes will remain suspended from September 28 to October 6. Besides, the university offices will remain closed on October 1, 2, 4 and 10.
As the class break starts from Sunday, students will get an additional weekend, making it an 11-day holiday in total.
However, as in previous years, the residential halls and medical centre will remain open during the vacation.
The transport office will operate according to the holiday schedule on the campus-Bangobazar-campus route only.
