World Habitat Day celebrated in Kurigram

World Habitat Day was celebrated in Kurigram with the theme 'Planned Development, Response to Urban Problems'. Discussion meetings and rallies were held to mark the day.
On Monday afternoon, Deputy Commissioner Sifat Mehnaz was the chief guest at a discussion meeting moderated by Public Works Department Executive Engineer Md. Abdullah Al Farooq at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Abdur Razzak Roni, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Kurigram District Branch Maulana Md. Nizam Uddin, District Coordinator of Jatiya Nagorik Party Md. Mukul Mia, Journalist Syed Ahmed Babu and other guests were present at the event.
At the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sifat Mehnaz said, "It is very important to identify the growing problems in urban development in a planned manner and develop a united effort from everyone. Integrated initiatives will lay the foundation for sustainable development."
