Wife sentenced to death in husband murder case in Bhola

A court in Bhola has sentenced Nur Nahar Begum to death for murdering her husband, Farhad Hossain Titob Munshi, by hacking him to death and subsequently dismembering his body in Alinagar of Bhola Sadar Upazila.
The verdict was delivered on Tuesday by the Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 Court of Bhola.
According to court documents and details of the incident, the murder took place in the early hours of October 24, 2021, in the Panditer Pol area of Ruhita village under Alinagar Union. The deceased, Farhad Hossain Titob Munshi, 45, was the son of Belayet Hossain Munshi of North Dighaldi Union.
Police and local sources said that Titob had gone to the house of his second wife, Nur Nahar, the previous night. During a family dispute, Titob fell asleep, after which Nur Nahar allegedly hacked him to death with a machete. She allegedly later dismembered his hands and legs and kept the body parts in a cooking pot.
In the morning, locals saw Nur Nahar sitting in front of the house with a blood-stained machete and informed the police. Police subsequently arrived at the scene, arrested her and recovered the body.
After a lengthy judicial process, the court delivered its verdict on Tuesday. The verdict has sparked widespread discussion and public interest across Bhola.
