3-day National Fisheries Week function ends in Kalai

With the theme 'Rupali Motsye Swanirbhor Desh, Sobar Age Bangladesh' (A self-reliant country through silver fish, Bangladesh first), the 3-day 'National Fisheries Week. function which began on August 16 under the auspices of Kalai Upazila Administration and Upazila Fisheries Department in Joypurhat district, concluded on Tuesday noon in the Upazila Parishad conference room.
The closing ceremony was held under the chairmanship of UNO Faisal Ahmed and under the overall supervision of Sohel Hossain, Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist at the Upazila Fisheries Officer's office. At one stage of the ceremony, prizes were awarded to the winners of the drawing competition.
Anchored by SM Shoukat, CA of Kalai Upazila Parishad, important speeches were delivered at the event by successful fish farmers Mokbul Hossain and Md. Lutfor Rahman, Khetlal Farm Manager Mahmud Hasan, and Mst. Rehena Bibi, mother of July warrior martyr Rita from Kalai, among others.
