Swimming competition, award distribution held in Mirsarai

A swimming competition and award distribution ceremony was held with the participation of fishermen on the occasion of National Fisheries Day in Mirsarai, Chittagong.
The swimming competition was organized at the Mirsarai Upazila Parishad pond on Tuesday morning. Local fishermen participated in it.
At the end of the competition, Mirsarai UNO Somaiya Akhter handed over the prizes to the winners.
Present at the time were Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tanvirul Quader, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Arifur Rahman, Social Service Officer Sabrina Lina, Women's Affairs Officer Meher Afroz, Upazila Election Officer Humayun Kabir and Youth Development Officer Shah Alam.
Those concerned said that such programs organized on the occasion of National Fisheries Day will play an important role in creating enthusiasm among fishermen and increasing the participation of those involved in the fisheries sector.
