We will not become tamed opposition like JaPa: Sarjis Alam
Zubaer, Pirojpur Correspondent
Chief Organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Sarjis Alam on Tuesday said, his party will not act as a "tamed opposition" like the Jatiya Party, asserting that the BNP does not need to dictate the nature of NCP's political programs.
He made the remarks as the chief guest during an NCP organizational coordination meeting and political workshop held in Pirojpur this afternoon.
Addressing criticisms from BNP leaders regarding NCP's recent program, Sarjis Alam countered remarks labeling their event a road march or long drive. He stated that if the NCP's event were deemed a long drive, then historical programs led by Khaleda Zia would fall under the same definition.
Sarjis Alam warned that any attempt by the BNP to resist the NCP would yield adverse outcomes. On the issue of freedom of speech, he noted that the NCP had taken internal organizational action against a central committee member who criticized the Prime Minister in an inappropriate tone.
The event was presided over by NCP Pirojpur District Convener Humayun Kabir. Member of Parliament for Jhalakathi-1 and NCP Political Council Member Dr. Mahmuda Mitu, NCP Joint Convener Sarwar Tushar, and Pirojpur District NCP Member Secretary Moinul Ahsan Munna were among other party leaders present.
