We have to focus on defence: Topu

Bangladeshi defender Topu Barman said that they have to focus on their defence against Palestine during their upcoming joint qualifiers (round two) Group I fixture for FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027.
The men in red and green will face Palestine at the neutral venue Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City on Thursday.
“The whole team has to be focused on defence and who will play in the backline, have to give extra effort as Palestine are a strong team since they played in the Asian Cup round of 16,” said Topu.
“We know our duty, what we need to do against them (Palestine) and progress accordingly. We have to execute the plan which the coach will plot. We have been playing together for a long time so we have a good combination,” he added.
The men in red and green completed a 15-day residential camp in Al-Taif, Saudi Arabia ahead of their two matches against Palestine. The other match will be held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on 26 March.
The team reached Kuwait from Saudi Arabia on Sunday and did their first training session at the Al Sahel Sports Club Training Ground on Monday.
“The fitness is very good. All players in the camp are fit and eager to play the match. We had a very good camp in Saudi Arabia which was important for us. The weather in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait is also similar. So, it will help us a lot,” he concluded.
