Public Affairs Counselor of US Embassy in Bangladesh Mr. Stephen Ibelli called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal April 29, 2024 at the latter’s office of the university. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed the matters of mutual interest especially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on English language & literature, Climate Change & Disaster Management, Information Technology and other subjects among Dhaka University and different universities in USA.

They stressed the need for expanding and strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs as well as teachers, students and researchers exchange programs among Dhaka University and various universities of USA.

Public Affairs Counselor of US Embassy Mr. Stephen Ibelli expressed his willingness to enhance academic collaboration with DU. He appraised DU VC of increasing the number of prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for Dhaka University teachers, researchers and students. He sought cooperation and support from DU VC for holding `US Education Fair’ at DU campus in September next.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal assured the Counselor of providing support for holding this Education Fair at DU campus. He sought cooperation from the concerned US authorities for mutual exchange of information on Climate Change & Disaster Management, Gender Equality, Data Science, Social Science, Public Health and other sectors. He thanked the guest for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in enhancing academic collaboration with DU.
