No alternative to research in higher education : Dr. Sadeka Halim

The Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University Prof Dr. Sadeka Halim said, in advanced higher education, there is no alternative to research.
She made the remarks as the chief guest at a workshop organized by the university's Research Cell in the conference room of the Vice Chancellor on Tuesday.
The Vice-Chancellor said, “Young teachers and students need to be encouraged in research activities at the university, and those who are encouraged to do research should be given appropriate respect by us.”
Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah, a professor of the Department of Sociology at the University of Dhaka, presented the main article at the workshop, and a welcome speech was delivered by Professor Dr. S.M. Masum Billah,dean of the faculty of law at Jagannath University.
The workshop was chaired by the Director of the University Research Cell, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain. Professor Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Treasurer of the University, was present as a special guest at the workshop.Dr. Mamta B. Chowdhury, senior lecturer of the School of Business at Western Sydney University, and teachers of various departments of Jagannath University were present.
