University of Barishal participated in QS Bangladesh Forum 2026

Representatives from the University of Barishal participated in the QS Bangladesh Forum 2026. The event featured important discussions on the international standing of Bangladeshi higher education institutions, future skills, employability, academic preparation and the role of universities in economic transformation. The day-long event was organized on 17 August 2026 at Hotel Sheraton, Banani, Dhaka.
Present on behalf of the University of Barishal at the event were Muhammad Risalat Rafiq, Convenor of the Ranking Committee nominated by the Vice-Chancellor of Barishal University and Director (Acting) of the University's External Affairs Office, and Member Secretary Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies.
Bangladesh's position and potential are particularly important in the discussion of the QS World Future Skills Index 2027. Bangladesh's overall score is 46.6 and the global position is 67th. At the same time, Bangladesh's position and development opportunities are highlighted in four important indicators - Skills Alignment, Academic Readiness, Future of Work and Economic Transformation.
